Al-Hajraf: His Highness the Amir’s China visit of extreme strategic value

His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s official state visit to China, which began on July 7 and continues until the 10th, is of extreme strategic value, said Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf Monday.

Speaking to KUNA and Kuwait Television on the sideline of His Highness the Amir’s visit, Al-Hajraf said that the event would hopefully further bolster relations between the two sides.

The official rounds of talks between His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah and Chinese President Xi Jinping had touched on various political and economic issues, said Al-Hajraf who indicated that the Kuwaiti side informed their Chinese counterparts of their plans for the development of Al-Harir city and a number of Kuwaiti Islands.

China is welcomed to invest in Kuwait, affirmed Al-Hajraf, adding that his country was keen on exploring business opportunities offered by China.

The two sides have succeeded in inking seven agreements and memorandum of understandings that will contribute to the development of relations on various domains, said the Kuwaiti minister, indicating that “The Chinese side have showcased great interest integrated economic cooperation with Kuwait.” Earlier on, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah and President Xi presided over the official rounds of talks between China and Kuwait at the Great Hall of the People in the capital Beijing.
