Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki, appreciated the positions of the brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council states towards Iraq in general and Kuwait in particular.
A statement by Al-Maliki’s office stated that the head of the State of Law coalition discussed today, during his meeting with the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait, Salem Al-Zamnan, discussing bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries, the recent visit of the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council to Baghdad, and the situation in the country and the region.
He stressed the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries and the need to strengthen them in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples. He indicated that Iraq is preparing to hold the election as scheduled.
Al-Maliki stressed the importance of creating conditions properly for the elections to give fair results for all.
He praised the positions of the brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries towards Iraq in general, and the positions of Kuwait in particular in implementing the outcomes that emerged from the Kuwait Donor Conference, and the obligations of states towards Iraq and its people.
For his part, the Kuwaiti Ambassador affirmed his country’s support for Iraq and its people in order to achieve development and stability, noting the importance of communication between the two brotherly countries.
