CAIRO, The Cairo-based Arab League on Thursday lauded Saudi Arabia’s authorities for their serious and firm approach to investigating the killing of Saudi national Jamal Khashoggi.
Its Secretariat General said this was demonstrated in the the Saudi attorney general’s statement issued earlier today, which clarified that several people detained on remand were handed charges.
Such measures are evidence which mirror the commitment of Saudi authorities in arresting those responsible for committing the crime of murder, the Secretariat pointed out.
The Secretariat stressed the need for the Turkish side to take similar steps in providing evidence on the incident.
It urged Ankara to respond to Riyadh’s request to launch a cooperation mechanism agreement on the matter.
