Brazil, Switzerland end World Cup clash 1-1

Switzerland equalized the score 1-1 against Brazil in their Group E clash of the FIFA World Cup on Sunday, not the start the Brazilians were hoping for.

Philippe Coutinho goal put Brazil?’s ahead with a sensational shot 20 minute into the match.

The Barcelona?’s midfielder, who was named man of the match, took possession of the ball on the edge of the box and curled it into the far corner of the Swiss goalkeeper.

But Steven Zuber equalized the score in the 50th minute.

Xherdan Shaqiri fired a powerful cross and Zuber was surprisingly unmarked inside the six-yard box, allowing him to power a header from a close range.

The Brazilians possessed the ball more than the Swiss with an average 53 percent.

Brazil?’s coach Tite pushed Renato Augusto, Fernandinho and Roberto Firmino to the pitch to increase the pressure on the Swiss but appararently the attempts did not change the outcome.

Serbia is leading Group E with three points following its 1-0 win over Costa Rica.
