RIYADH, The Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said Saturday its aid defense forces shot down a drone flown by Iranian-backed Houthi militia from Yemen towards Saudi Arabia.
The hostile drone was intercepted in the airspace of Yemen and fell in Amran governorate, north Yemen, Spokesman of the Coalition Col. Staf Turki Al-Maliki said in a statement.
The command of the joint forces adopts all necessary measures to protect civilian life and property against the terrorist attacks in consistency with the rules of engagement, Col. Al-Maliki said.
He affirmed that the hostile acts of the terrorist Houthi militias constitute a flagrant violation of the international humanitarian law, noting that the Houthis are in desperate situation after the losses they have sustained.
