Dubai: The fourth chapter of “Heritage of yesterday for the generation of tomorrow” summer program 2012 organised by the Architectural Heritage Department of Dubai Municipality in cooperation with the Architectural Heritage Society of the UAE concluded yesterday in the Falcon Center at Nad Al Sheba.
Eng. Abdullah Rafee, Assistant Director General of Dubai Municipality praised the efforts of organisers and supervisors saying that the Architectural Heritage Department has done a fantastic job for the success of this program, which was apparent from the huge participation of students and their guardians indicating the range of dedication and honesty of participants.
Eng. Ahmed Mahmood, Acting Director of Architectural Heritage Department said the program held in four categories. The first category dedicated for religious programs such as Quran recitation, Tajweed, Life of Prophet, and Training on worships, which were presented four times in every week.
The second category focused on technical programmes such as workshops of drawing, painting, engraving on gypsum and wood, marble painting and photography.
The third category was field visits in cooperation with heritage organisations, government and private sectors, which included entertainment tours and museum visits in Bastakiya and Shindaga.
The fourth category was miscellaneous that encompassed heritage lectures and entertainment competitions.
Students participated in the program expressed their happiness for having a wonderful and fruitful time in their life helping the new generation to understand the rich heritage and culture of the country as well as to explore their hidden skills in various areas of art and creativeness.
