DRUG SMUGGLING BID FOILED AT KUWAIT-SAUDI BORDER

RIYADH, — The Saudi and Kuwaiti drug combating authorities have foiled an attempt by a Saudi citizen and a Syrian to smuggle about 1.5 million amphetamine pills from Kuwait to Saudi Arabia.

Col. Abdulaziz Bin Mohammed Bin Kadassa, spokesman for the anti-narcotics directorate, said close cooperation between the drug-combating authorities in the two countries helped foil the smuggling attempt.

He said the pills were concealed in bags of charcoal coming from Ukraine.
