Egyptian Pres. tells gov’t to act as caretaker after resignation – spokesman

Egyptian President Abdulfatah Al-Sisi instructed the government Tuesday to act as care-taker until a new cabinet was formed, following the resignation of Council of Ministers, presidency spokesman Bassam Radhi said.

Al-Sisi instructed government of Prime Minister Sharif Ismail, who tendered his cabinet’s resignation earlier, to act as care-taker, Radhi said in a statement.

Ismail submitted the resignation two days after Al-Sisi was sworn in before the parliament for a second four-term term.
