Eight die in car bomb blast in northern Syria

ISTANBUL, Eight civilians died in a booby-trapped car blast in the village of Siluk in Tal Abyad in northern Syria on Sunday, the Turkish Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

It said 20 people were also wounded in the explosion, charging the Workers Party of Kurdistan (the PKK) and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units with planting the bomb.

Elsewhere, Turkish troops located and defused 331 mines and 891 bombs left behind by the Kurdish faction “in the liberated regions in northern Syria,” it added.
