EU int’l trade increases

BRUSSELS, In January to August 2018, European Union (EU) exports of goods to the rest of the world rose to 1.28 trillion euro (USD 1.48 trillion), an increase of 4.2 percent compared with January-August 2017.

EU imports from the rest of the world for the same period rose to 1. 29 trillion euro (USD 1.49 trillion) an increase of 5.3 percent compared with January-August 2017.

In January to August 2018, euro area exports of goods to the rest of the world rose to 1. 50 trillion euro (USD 1.73 trilion), an increase of 4.3 percent compared with January-August 2017.

Euro area imports from the rest of the world for the same period rose to 1. 3 trillion euro (USD 1.50 trillion) an increase of 5.5 percent compared with January-August 2017.

These figures were released by Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office, Tuesday.
