EX-IRAQI MIN. TOUTS KUWAIT’S AID TO IRAQI IDPS

IRBIL, May 14 (NNN-KUNA) — Former Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari Saturday extolled Kuwait’s humanitarian aid to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Iraqi Kurdistan Region.

The Iraqi minister made the remark during a meeting with Kuwaiti Consul-General in Irbil Dr. Omar Al-Kandari and several other Kuwaiti diplomats in Irbil.

Speaking to KUNA following the meeting, Zebari said he had discussed with Kuwaiti diplomats the political developments in Kurdistan, Iraq and the region in general.

He said his country appreciates humanitarian and relief aid extended by the State of Kuwait to Iraqi displaced persons in Kurdistan.

The former Iraqi minister also lauded His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s initiative aiming at alleviating the sufferings of the Iraqi people.

On his part, Kuwaiti Consul-General in Irbil Dr. Omar Al-Kandari said he elaborated during the meeting on humanitarian projects carried out by the State of Kuwait through its campaign “Kuwait is By Your Side”.

The Kuwaiti humanitarian campaign includes relief, medical and school supplies to international displaced persons in Iraq, he said in a statement to KUNA.

He boasted that his country is playing a key role in the reconstruction of liberated areas in Iraq, and the stimulation of investment in the coming period.
