WAM Dubai, Nov 27th, 2012 (WAM)–The grace period for the Ministries and federal institutions to sign the contracts of their new and old employees has been extended to Jan. 31, 2013, according to a circular No. (40) for year 2012 issued by The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR).

It added that the last grace period was the end of this November, noting that the contracts signed so far were below required within the specified time limit.

The FAHR called for the human resources departments at the ministries and federal agencies to speed up the signing of contracts of their new and old employees, be they Emiratis or expatriates, within the new grace period that ends at Jan. 31.

It underlined that the move aims to streamline the functional relationship between the employee and employer so as to define the rights and duties of the employee, as well as facilitate reference to both the employee and the department of human resources.
