Follow up Committee of President’s Initiatives announces list of 703 eligible applicants for houses

Abu Dhabi: A total of 703 Emiratis, including 173 widows and divorcees, will get houses in various Emirates, the Follow up Committee of Initiatives of UAE President has announced.

The Committee has also released a preliminary list of 703 eligible applicants for houses and demanded them to report to the Ministry of Public Works to complete the required documents for final approval. The Committee has given these houses after thoroughly reviewing findings of a field study commissioned by the Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, which contained lists of prospective homeowners.

Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Committee, said the houses were granted to applicants who had satisfied all requirements and criteria for getting government houses in implementation of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s directives to provide citizens with highest standards of living conditions and to establish modern infrastructure across the Emirates, and follow up by His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

In its recent meeting at the Presidential Court, the Committee has given its consent for awarding a contract for construction of 50 houses for citizens at Al Raqa in Umm al Qaiwain at total cost of AED 36.550 million. The contractor is scheduled to complete the housing project in 420 days.

The Committee also approved the construction of 46 houses for citizens at Masafi in Ras Al Khaimah.
