Former Fox News executive Bill Shine will assume a top communications role in the White House, President Donald Trump announced Thursday.
Shine will serve as Assistant to the President and Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications, Trump said in the White House announcement.
The post has been vacant for several months since communications director Hope Hicks left the administration.
Shine “brings over two decades of television programming, communications and management experience to the role,” the announcement said.
Previously, Shine served as co-president of Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network.
