PARIS, — France has decided to temporarily close its diplomatic missions in Turkey for security reasons, diplomatic sources confirmed on Wednesday.
The sources told KUNA that the closure would be “from July 13, onwards, at 13.30″ local time,” but they did not give specifics on how long the closure would last.
Turkey has been the target of increasing terrorist attacks by so-called Islamic State (IS) and hundreds have died in bombings in Ankara and Istanbul since the beginning of the year. But French nationals were only marginally affected by the terror attacks.
France regularly evaluates security conditions for its diplomatic missions and its nationals abroad and gives guidelines to travellers intending to visit different geographic regions.
