France meets Australia in World Cup’s Group C

France will be playing Australia at Kazan Arena on Saturday, wishing to cruise to the top of Group C.

Coach Didier Deschamps is expected to push Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele and Antione Griezmann to the offensive.

“We are three players who appreciate each other,” Mbappe said in remarks before the match.

“We can bring some carefreeness, some joie de vivre in a competition where pressure is always weighing on the squad,” he added.

France also has Manchester United’s Paul Pobga and forward Olivier Giroud, which could start from the bench.

The winning probability leans towards France, which won the World Cup in 1998.

Australia’s coach Bert Van Marwijk said “When you are well organized and you believe in something and everybody knows exactly what to do and you have the guts to play and be yourself, then we have a chance” to win.

The other match of Group C will feature Peru playing against Denmark in Mordovia Arena, their first ever encounter.

This is Peru’s first World Cup appearance since 1982.

Denmark reached knockout stage at three of their previous four World Cup appearances.
