Hamdan bin Rashid receives AAAID chief

WAM Dubai, 27 Feb. 2013 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, received today Ali bin Saeed Al Sharhan, Chairman of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), who updated him on its strategy and vision to achieve Arab food security and promote Arab products.

Sheikh Hamdan commended efforts the AAAD is making to implement agricultural projects and optimise Arab resources to realise food security in the Arab World.

Sheikh Hamdan said the Arab World possesses the potentials and resources to achieve self-sufficiency from strategic staple crops.

Al Sharhan thanked Sheikh Hamdan for granting the authority a plot to build its regional office which the UAE hosted since 1989.

The UAE is the current president of the 20 member state AAAID and also is a key founding member, contributing 15% of the authorized capital of 150 million Kuwaiti Dinars.
