Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh today honoured the content team in charge of the ministry’s website which won the E-Government Excellence Award in the category of best electronic portal.
The award-distribution ceremony was held last October, under the patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister, Chair of the High Information and Telecommunications Committee, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.
Al Saleh said that the prize represents a catalyst to continue efforts to deliver the best services, ensure a quick response and meet people’s needs.
She gave instructions to continue upgrading health systems using cutting edge and innovative solutions and invest in smart technologies, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
She lauded the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to invest in modern and innovative technologies in delivering premium services.
She said that the ministry’s portal played a crucial role over the past two years since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) providing updated information about the virus and highlighting the efforts of the national campaign to combat the pandemic round the round.
According to ministry’s statistics, over 8 million internet users visited the website during the period running from March 2020 to September 2021 – of whom 3.5 million were froom from Bahrain.
A total of 830,000 visitors from Saudi Arabia logged to the ministry’s portal, followed by visitors from Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
