KUWAIT, — The Ministry of Health and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS of Sciences (KFAS) will sign a MoU on Sunday to support, encourage and finance medical research, a ministry official said on Saturday.
Minister of Health Dr Ali Al-Obaidi and KFAS Director General Dr. Adnan Shihab-Eldin will attend the signing ceremony, Undersecretary for Support Medical Services at Ministry of Health Dr Jamal Al-Harbi told KUNA.
The MoU will encourage medical and health research and set a mechanism for coordination and exchange of information between the ministry and KFAS, in line with the national development plan, Harbi added.
In addition, it includes organizing conferences and workshops, as well as bolstering cooperation with the world’s specialized centers and organizations, noted Harbi, who is also head of the ministry’s permanent committee for coordinating medical research.
The ministry-KFAS cooperation will help achieve a quantum shift in medical research and enhance researchers’ expertise, besides applying the international criteria of medical and health research ethics.
Moreover, the MoU will offer recommendations for decision-makers.
