Iran eager to win over Morocco – Shojaei

Iranian football team captain Mahmoud Shojaei said Friday his teammates were eager to win over Morocco to please their fans back home.

Shojaei, speaking following a dramatic 1-0 victory against Morocco in injury time said the North Africans were a good team but his team may have earned the win at the end.

He said they would be preparing for the match against Spain, which he described as an excellent team.

Morocco’s forward Ayoub Al-Kaabi said his team tried very hard to score but were not lucky.

He said Morocco was better throughout the match.

Morocco’s coach Herve Renard was not satisfied with the outcome.

He said they did not properly deal with the Iranians who posed real threats.

Carles Queiroz, Iran’s coach, described the match as difficult and Morocco was a tough contenders.

He said there might have been luck in their win but his players deserved it.
