BRUSSELS, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif Tuesday said that he wants to see if the European side that has signed the Iranian nuclear deal can deliver benefits for Iran.
“There are very clear economic benefits that have been specified in the agreement that the Iranian people have to receive in order for the balance that was created in the JCPOA (Iran nuclear deal) to remain,” he told reporters ahead of a meeting with EU High Representative Federica Mogherini together with the foreign ministers of France, Germany and the UK.
“We have to see whether the remaining JCPOA participants can deliver those benefits to Iran. We are starting a process that needs to be very intensive and we don’t have a lot of time. We need to reach some sort of guarantee for these benefits for Iran within the specified period of time that the President has said a few weeks,” he said.
“We are going to see whether the political will that has been expressed by the remaining participants in the JCPOA can be translated into specific actions,” added Zarif.
