Iraqi PM orders lifting curfew on Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdulmahdi ordered the security services on Friday to lift the curfew on the capital city of Baghdad as of the early morning of Saturday.

The curfew will end by 5:00 a.m., local time (2:00 a.m. GMT), Saturday, according to a statement by the security media cell of the Iraqi government.

The curfew was imposed Thursday morning amid mass protests in Baghdad and other cities across the country which claimed dozens of lives.
