Israeli army shells target in southern Gaza Strip

GAZA, The Israeli occupation army announced on Saturday that its warplanes targeted a Palestinian position and group inside the Gaza Strip, claiming that they participated in launching a drone loaded with explosive device inside Israeli areas.

The Israeli army said in a press statement that one of its aircraft belonging to the air force targeted a Palestinian cell near the separation fence east of the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

It claimed that the Palestinian cell launched a small drone from the southern Gaza Strip, which passed into the Israeli areas.

The drone dropped an explosive device in the fence and immediately returned to the Strip, according to the Israeli army’s claims.

It explained that the accident did not result in injuries among the ranks of the occupation army but caused minor damage to a military vehicle.

On the other hand, the Israeli occupation army besieged today the town of Azzun east of Qalqilya at the pretext of searching for wanted Palestinians claimed to have carried out stabbing operation against settlers.

Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) said that the Israeli occupation army imposed a tough siege on Azzun and intensified its military measures.
