JORDAN WELCOMES KUWAIT WINNING OF SEAT AT UN SECURITY COUNCIL

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi said Saturday Kuwait will be “the voice of wisdom and reasonable diplomacy” at the UN Security Council.

In a phone conversation with Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Jordanian minister congratulated Kuwait on being elected yesterday as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for a two-year term starting as of January 2018.

Al-Safadi said the State of Kuwait will work for finding diplomatic solutions to the crises in the Middle East region, according to Jodan’s Petra news agency.

On his part, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled thanked Jordan for supporting Kuwait in bidding for a non-permanent seat at the UNSC.

He affirmed that the permanent representatives of both countries to the UN will continue working together for addressing the problems of the region.

He also stressed the need to further cement the bilateral ties and cooperation under the wise leaderships of both countries.
