JORDANIAN, KUWAITI, US TOP BRASS DISCUSS DEFENSE COOP

AMMAN, May 14 (NNN-KUNA) — Chief of the Joint Staff of the Jordanian Army Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat met Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army Lt.-Genl Sheikh Abdullah Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Commander of US Central Command (CENTCOM) Gen. Joseph Votel on Saturday.

The meeting, held on the fringes of the senior leaders’ symposium as part of the 2017 Eager Lion military exercise, discussed a number of issues related to defense cooperation among the three friendly countries.

Sheikh Abdullah arrived here late Friday leading a senior-level delegation to the two-day symposium and the war games that will start on Sunday and last until May 18.

Nearly 7,400 soldiers from the armies of two dozens of countries, including Kuwait, will take part in the military drills.
