KUWAIT, Kuwait’s state-run oil company said on Thursday that an oil leak in a well in the south of the country has been brought under control.
The critical incident was “dealt with in due time”, read a statement by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), suggesting that such a swift response is uncommon for mishaps of that nature.
The statement added that the company’s emergency teams would remain on site near assembly center 9 in Al-Maqwa area until the oil leak is fully subdued.
KOC said last Monday that the oil leak had sparked an ensuing blaze about 750 meters away from the well.
