Kuwait criticizes int’l silence over Israeli crimes

GENEVA Kuwait criticized the international silence on Israel’s violations and crimes against Palestinians.

The remarks were made by Kuwait’s Permanent Representative at the UN and International Organizations Ambassador Jamal Al Ghunaim on Wednesday, during the 43rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC), held from 24 February to 20 March.

Israeli forces continue to open fire against Palestinian children at the border separation fence, said Al Ghunaim, adding that children represent 30 percent of deaths among Palestinians and 28 percent of injuries.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights’ (OHCHR) report showed that the Palestinian demonstrations along the fence “Great March of Return”, were peaceful and did not pose any threat, however, Israeli forces executed acts of violence against the civilians, said Al Ghunaim.

Meanwhile, the ambassador condemned the fact that Israel is not punished on its crimes against Palestinians.

He added that the only measures Israel took against a soldier who killed a 14 year old child was to lower his military rank.

He said that Israel continues to violate the international law as the world sits still.

The Palestinian cause will continue to be a top priority for Kuwait, until all demands are met, including an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital, Al Ghunaim affirmed.
