Kuwait Foreign Ministry: Kuwaiti-US ties deep rooted

An official source at the Foreign Ministry has affirmed the depth of relations between the State of Kuwait and the United States of America.

The source said on Wednesday that the two countries have strategic partnership on all levels, in addition to their current consultation within the framework of the United Nations Security Council.

This came in reply to a question by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) about reports published by local media over what has been discussed during a meeting held between Kuwait’s Ambassador to the US Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and US President’s Advisor Jared Kushner. The reports referred to purported dissatisfaction with the US Administration about Kuwait’s stance at the UN Security Council towards some issues.

The source quashed these reports, affirming that the ties between the two sides are deep-rooted.

The source commended the ambassador’s role in promoting relations between the two countries, noting that there has been solid bonds between him and the US Administration’s officials.

He also stressed that there is mutual respect between the two sides in line with the two countries’ strategic coalition frameworks.
