Kuwait grants US 5 million to UNRWA

Kuwait: Kuwait’s Permanent Representative at the UN Mansour Al-Otaibi has delivered US five million in aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) office in New York.

“This contribution is also meant to help UNRWA offer basic health, educational, relief and social services to Palestinian refugees, especially those who have been locked in hardships since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis,” he said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

He urged more international efforts to provide necessary financial resources to UNRWA so that it could carry on its services to refugees. The diplomat said that the State of Kuwait would remain a key partner to UNRWA to continue its role in supporting the Palestinian people.
