KUWAIT HANDS OUT 2,500 FOOD BASKETS TO DISPLACED IRAQIS

IRBIL, Iraq, Around 2,500 food baskets were distributed Wednesday, by Kuwait, to the internally displaced Iraqis from Mosul and other areas in northern Iraq.

The food aid is part of Kuwait’s humanitarian campaign, to alleviate the suffering of Iraqi people, Kuwait’s Consul General in Irbil, Dr. Omar Al-Kanderi, told KUNA.

The Kuwaiti Consulate, in coordination with philanthropic organisations in Iraq’s Kurdistan region, focuses on the displaced, who are deprived of the international humanitarian aid, and reside outside displaced Iraqis’ camps, Al-Kanderi noted, adding that, food baskets have been handed out to them especially.

The Kuwaiti aid to the Iraqi people, is a live interpretation of the Kuwaiti Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s humanitarian initiatives, to the needy ones from all around the world, including internally displaced Iraqis, he said.

Al-Kanderi also reiterated his mission’s commitment, to continue distributing Kuwait’s aid, billed as “Kuwait is by your side,” to the Iraqi people.
