CAIRO, Egypt- Kuwait’s Permanent Delegate to the Arab League, Ahmad Al-Bakr, on Wednesday, reaffirmed the country’s support to joint Arab action.
Al-Bakr met on Wednesday, with the League’s Secretary General, Ahmad Abul-Gheit, and congratulated him on assuming the post, on behalf of the Kuwaiti leadership, the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the Acting Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
During the meeting, the envoy reiterated Kuwait’s backing to Abul-Gheit on his mission, leading the Arab League, amid the critical conditions the Arab region is experiencing, Al-Bakr said.
They also discussed a host of issues, topped with the ongoing preparations for the forthcoming Arab Summit, due in Mauritania’s capital, Nouakchott, July 25- 26.
The meeting addressed the issue of developing the League and improving its performance, as Al-Bakr stressed Kuwait’s support to the Secretary General’s efforts in that respect.
