Kuwaiti State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Information Minister, Sheikh Mohammad Abdallah Al-Sabah, praised the Lebanese Cultural Week’s activities, which kicked off here on Monday.

Speaking in an address alongside Lebanon’s visiting Culture Minister, Ghattas Khoury, he hoped that Beirut would host a similar event marking Kuwaiti culture, which he said, equally deserves to be displayed.

Praising the “authentic” rhythms of the Lebanese National Orchestra for Oriental-Arabic Music, the tunes of which marked the event’s opening ceremony, he said, the days to come would witness exhibitions of Lebanese modern artists and vintage instruments alongside other activities.

For his part, the Lebanese minister praised the warm ties between the Kuwaiti and Lebanese people and the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s contributions, towards these “brotherly relations.”

In separate remarks, the Lebanese Embassy Charge d’Affaires, Maher Al-Khair, suggested that both countries played a key role in tackling global challenges and encouraging humanitarian dialogue.

Speaking in relation to the event, Al-Khair said, “It comes to honour the craftsmanship of the letter, and the elevation of poetry, the arts and literature.”
