ROME, May 13 (NNN-KUNA) — Kuwait’s Ambassador to Italy Sheikh Ali Al-Khaled Al-Sabah has emphasized that members of the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission to the World Food Organization (FAO) are safe after an explosion near the international organization premises in Rome.

In a statement to KUNA, the ambassador said Friday that the embassy contacted immediately the Italian authorities to be briefed on the explosion that took place in Roma where a Kuwaiti diplomatic mission locates.

He added that he also contacted Kuwait’s Permanent Delegate to FAO Youssef Jehail who said everything is fine in Rome and tourists are flowing to the country as usual.

The ambassador lauded “successful efforts by the Italian authorities”, thanks to tightened security measures made to deal with such incidents.

He noted that the explosion was “limited” and didn’t affect Italy’s security. — NNN-KUNA
