Sharjah, 2 June 2013 (WAM) – As the holy month of Ramadan is fast approaching, citizens should make the best out of it by focusing on worshipping, doing more charity and staying away from anything that could affect their fasting, said His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah.

During a phone call made today to ‘Al Khatt Al Mubashir, or the Direct Line live show, broadcast by Sharjah Radio ‘&’ Television, Sheikh Sultan said: “Let’s celebrate the holy month of Ramadan by focusing on virtues, by spending time on true worshipping, not just watching trivial soap operas on TV.” “These (soap operas) producers are just groups of three or four people who gather and think of any meaningless stories that could keep people busy during the holy month. We cannot stop what is being aired, but we can urge people to ponder the spiritual significance of Ramadan,” he added.
