BAGHDAD, Death toll have risen to four people in violent protests in Nasiriyah, northern Iraq, a medical source announced Monday.
The source, who asked for anonymity, told KUNA that at least four people were killed and more than 150 injured in a Sunday protest.
The situation is calm now, despite the closure of the Directorate of Education by the demonstrators, the source added.
Furthermore, a parliamentary human rights committee declared Sunday that the death toll climbed to 319 people since nationwide protests broke out in October.
