National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking receives Turkmenistan delegation

WAM ABU DHABI: The National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking (NCCHT) received yesterday Turkmenistan and International Organization for Migration delegation which is currently visiting the UAE to learn about its experience in combating human trafficking and enhance mutual cooperation in the related fields.

This visit confirms the significant roles played by the UAE to combat human trafficking, and is in line with the committee’s strategy to exchange knowledge and expertise in this area as well as to enhance international cooperation towards the limitation of these kinds of crimes, which represents a global threat said Dr. Saeed Mohammed Al Ghafli, Assistant Undersecretary for Federal National Council Affairs in the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs and member of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking.

The meeting witnessed a detailed explanation of the national strategy, action plan and legal frameworks of the committee to combat human trafficking. It also addressed the rules and procedures of the Committee’s work beside the international coordination efforts with various local, regional and international organizations.

The meeting also presented the UAE strategy to combat human trafficking which is based on �Five Ps’ – Prevention, Prosecution, Punishment, Protection and Promotion (of international cooperation). Emphasis was also placed on the achievements and successes of the UAE in the field of combating human trafficking crimes WAM/MMYS
