OIC discusses dangerous situation in Palestine at extraordinary summit

JEDDAH, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) stated on Tuesday it would hold an exceptional summit next Friday in the Turkish city Istanbul to discuss latest dangerous developments in Palestine.

It added in a statement that the summit would be held in response to an invitation by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, head of the 13th Islamic Summit.

Up to 59 Palestinians were killed and more than 2,770 injured during peaceful protests against the American decision of opening the US embassy in Jerusalem.

The protestors expressed their objection to the 70th anniversary of what the Palestinians call “Al-Nakba” (catastrophe) — that was when Israel was proclaimed at expense of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who lost their homeland.
