GAZA, A number of Palestinian groups protesting against Israel’s blockade of the northern border of the Gaza Strip on Sunday staged a demonstration calling for an end to the 12-year-old Israeli siege.
Spokesman for the National Movement for Breaking the Siege Bassam Al-Manasra said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the demonstrating groups include sick, wounded, graduates and unemployed.
The demonstration carries several messages, most important of which is demanding a maritime navigation line linking the Gaza Strip with the world and to affirm the right of Palestinians to all territorial waters off the shores of the Gaza Strip.
Al-Manasra added that this demonstration expresses rejection of the occupation authorities’ claim of the buffer zone and to emphasize fishermen’s right of such maritime territories.
