RAMALLAH, The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) would not partake in international conference in Warsaw on the Middle East peace slated for next week, secretary general of the PLO Executive Committee Saeb Erekat said on Friday.
“We did not and would never mandate anyone to talk on behalf of the Palestinian people and the PLO is our sole legitimate representative,” he wrote on its Twitter account.
He added that the U.S. administration and all its decisions, which run counter the international law, has distanced itself from the peace process.
He laid it bare that any Palestinian party’s normalization of relations with the Israeli occupation authority or holding meetings with its Prime Minister constitute a stab in Palestine’s back.
Erekat’s statement came after a US official had announced that some Palestinian officials received an invitation to attend the conference.
