President’s Initiatives Follow-up Committee to build 1870 new homes for widows, people with special needs

WAM ABU DHABI: Acting upon the instructions of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide dignified life and social stability for all Emiratis, the President’s Initiatives Follow-up Committee has given preliminary approval of plans for building 1870 new homes across the UAE for widows and male and female people with special needs.

The decision was taken by the committee at a meeting at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.

The beneficiaries of the new housing project, 477 people with special needs and 1339 widows raising children, will receive the final approval for their new homes upon submission of all requited documents to the Committee and the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.

Ahmad Juma Al Za’abi, chairman of the committee and deputy minister for presidential affairs, said the instructions of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan provide for prioritising the needs of this particular segment of the population in order to strengthen social cohesion across the UAE.

The effort is in line with the vision of the wise leadership for the highest welfare standards for nationals, he added.
