The State of Qatar will provide a package of investment in Jordan’s infrastructure worth USD 500 million and 10,000 jobs opportunities for Jordanians in the Gulf country, the Jordanian Royal Court said in a statement Wednesday.
During a brotherly meeting between Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Thani, Qatar announced that it will provide a package of investment in Jordan’s infrastructure worth USD 500 million and 10,000 jobs opportunities for Jordanians in the Gulf state, the statement mentioned. The Qatari Foreign Minister conveyed to King Abdullah II Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s greetings. The statement also said the two sides discussed bilateral relationship and recent regional developments. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced at a meeting held in Makkah a few days ago to provide Jordan with support worth USD 2.5 billion to help it overcome the economic challenges.
The support of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states to Jordan came after a week-long of protesting against living conditions.
