Riyadh: attacks on Saudi properties threaten global oil supplies

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia said terrorist Tuesday’s attacks against oil facilities and two vessels recently were not only targetting the Kingdom but global oil supplies and international economy.

The Saudi government, chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz in Jeddah, said it was crucially important to confront the attacks in which Iranian-backed Houthi militias used drones to hit two oil pump stations of Aramco in Dawadmi and Afif Governorates in Riyadh Region.

Information Minister Turki Shabana was quoted by SPA news agency as saying the government condemned anew last Sunday’s attack on Saudi commercial vessels off the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The attack on the vessels poses a threat on safety of maritime navigation and thus international peace and security, he said.

The government, said Shabana, underlined the international community shared the responsibility to securing safety of maritime navigation and oil tankers.
