Saudi Shura denounces US Senate’s position

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia’s Consultative assembly (Shura) denounced the position taken by the US Senate, which is based on allegations and accusations, that is interfering in its domestic affairs and distorting the Kingdom’s role at regional and international levels.

A statement issued by the Shura Council after it held its ordinary session on Monday said: “The people of the Kingdom strongly reject the allegations on their leadership.” It also stressed the Kingdom’s position in the hearts of the Arabs and Muslims given the care and role of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense for presenting their support on the political, economic, development, or relief areas around the world.

Saudi Arabia’s role in opposing terrorism is a major factor that helped reduce its effects around the world as new steps on the militarily level have been taken to combat this scourge through Muslim alliances to halt financing that helps terrorist operations and the spread of its ideologies, along with intelligence exchanges on potential terrorist operations which the Kingdom is known for.

The Shura Council considered the position taken by the US Senate to be not reflecting enhancement of friendly relation among countries by the Parliamentary Council, while also stressing that internal policy in the US must not involve themselves in a significant country like Saudi Arabia and affect strategic relations between the two countries.
