Shura Council pays homage to late Kuwaiti leader

The Shura Council paid homage to the Amir of Kuwait His Highness Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who passed away today, leaving behind a prolific legacy of landmark achievements for the sake of his country, the Arab and Islamic nations.

“The Arab and Islamic nations have lost a sincere man who gave much to his country and was able, with his wisdom and statesmanship, to rank his country among developed nations and enhance its international standing, earning the the respect the entire international community”, it said.

It commended the late Amir’s pioneering achievements, which reflected positively on the life of the Kuwaiti citizens, hailing his unwavering support to the Gulf Cooperation Council(GCC) and his contributions to bolstering Arab unity and solidarity and serving pan-Arab just causes.

In a statement today,it paid tribute to the late Amir, hailing his role in supporting deep-rooted historic relations binding the King of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait.

It extended sincere condolences to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, the people of Kuwait, the Arab and Islamic nations.
