These patients can now register to be served by the Prescription Refill Clinics and can visit personally or send a family member with their insurance card and medical record number. The clinic will have a complete record of their condition and prescription dosage and will be able to dispense refills in a timelier, patient-centered manner.
Prescription Refill Clinics will improve the patient experience and make it easier for them to receive medication as they will not have to vie with other patients of the hospital for doctor and pharmacist appointments.
Dr. Samra Abouchacra, Consultant Physician at Tawam Hospital, said, “There are several benefits of Prescription Refill Clinics, both to the hospital as well as to patients with chronic but stable conditions. For the hospital, this service will increase efficiency of patient flow as lesser number of patients will visit the hospital. Access to the hospital will automatically become easier for new patients as more appointment slots will get freed up. For the patients, the benefits are obvious including an almost automated delivery system. We are confident that patients with chronic conditions will commend us as they begin to use the service.” The four Prescription Refill Clinics are dedicated to sub-specialties and specific patient groups according to department guidelines and are located at Tawam Hospital premises.
