WASHINGTON, President Donald Trump spoke Thursday with President Emmanuel Macron of France, the White House announced Friday. “Both leaders discussed the migration problem in Libya, and timelines to solve it,” the announcement said.
Trump “underscored the need to rebalance trade with Europe,” it said.
The phone call came hours after Washington imposed tariffs on imports from the EU, Mexico and Canada, prompting harsh criticisms and paving the way for a global trade war.
