Trump says Joe Biden “falling like a rock”

WASHINGTON, US President Donald Trump said Wednesday that former Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is “falling like a rock,” noting “we have him on tape with corruption.” In remarks to reporters at the White House, Trump reiterated “Biden is dropping like a rock. I don’t think he’s going to make it. I didn’t think he was going to make it for a long time. I don’t think he’s going to make it.” “I guess he’s no longer the front runner — I feel badly for him because I know he’s going through a lot. He’s been hit and he’s been caught red handed,” he said. “Here’s a man who is on tape saying exactly what he’s going to do in terms of corruption, and he gets away with it.” He stressed “if that ever happened to a Republican, they’d be getting the electric chair right now. They’d be right now being walked into the electric chair. It’s a whole different standard.” Asked if he would participate in the impeachment inquiry if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi holds a vote on the floor on impeachment and commits to the rules of previous impeachment proceedings, Trump responded “yeah, if the rules are fair ? If Republicans get a fair shake.” Earlier today, Biden told a crowd of supporters in New Hampshire that Trump “has violated his oath of office, betrayed this nation and committed impeachable acts.” “To preserve our Constitution, our democracy, our basic integrity, he should be impeached,” Biden said.

He added that Trump “has indicted himself by obstructing justice, refusing to comply with a congressional inquiry he’s already convicted himself.”
