WASHINGTON, US President Donald Trump on Wednesday says “time will tell” on whether US-North Korea summit will proceed, but insists on a denuclearized Korean Peninsula.
Asked by reporters on North Korea during a bilateral meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the White House, Trump said “We haven’t seen anything. We haven’t heard anything. We will see what happens. Whatever it is, it is.” Trump indicated no decision has been made yet on whether the summit will proceed as planned, saying “time will tell.” However, he maintained that he will insist on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, despite North Korea’s threat not to attend the high-level talks if Washington demands it unilaterally abandon its nuclear weapons.
