Turkish airstrike target Hasaka, Syria – SANA

AMMAN, The Turkish airstrike has started on Ras Al-Ayin city in Hasaka northwestern countryside, said the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) Wednesday.

According to a SANA reporter, the intensive Turkish aerial and artillery strikes were launched on Wednesday on Ras Al-Ayin city, adding that the assault targeted positions for QSD (SDF) militias in villages of Al-Asdieh, Beir Nouh, Al-Mashrafa, and Kheirbet al-Banat in Ras al-Ayin countryside.

The reporter added that Turkish random shelling targeted, through air and artillery, the infrastructure in Ras Al-Ayn city and its villages, and Al-Sinaa neighborhood in Ras Al-Ayn.

Earlier on, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his country’s military launched “Operation Peace Spring” to eliminate Kurdish PPK/YPG elements as well as so-called Islamic State (IS) fighters in northern Syria.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry also reacted to the military operations in a statement, saying that Syria condemned the current illegitimate Turkish operation on its soil.
