U.S., Japan confirm close coordination on North Korea

WASHINGTON, U.S. Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs John Bolton met on Friday with Japan?’s National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister Shotaro Yachi.

Dduring the meeting, they “confirmed close, ongoing coordination on North Korea, including on the upcoming United States-North Korea meeting”, it was announced on Saturday.

The White House said in a statement that they “committed to maintaining close trilateral cooperation among Japan, the United States, and the Republic of Korea.” Bolton and Yachi “reaffirmed the shared goal of achieving the complete and permanent dismantlement of North Korea?’s weapons of mass destruction, including all nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles, biological and chemical weapons, and related programs,” the statement concluded.
